With the stunning nature and landscapes, it’s no wonder Alanya is such a popular destination in Turkey. Located on the magnificent Turkish Riviera, there are so many places to take a vacation or even relocate permanently.

Citadel is a location overlooking the turquoise Mediterranean. The walls of Alanya’s Citadel were built by the Sercuks in the 13th century. This citadel is four miles long and it completely surrounds Alanya Castle, which at this time is pending membership as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Damlatas Cave is a fantastic place to cool off from the Alanya heat. Its stalactites and stalagmites are 15,000 years old. The cave is located at the beginning of Cleopatra Beach, next to the entrance to the Cable Car. There are many signposts so it is very easy to find. This cave is also said to be a very soothing place for asthma sufferers.

The Water Planet Aqua Park is a great place for children and adults alike. It offers giant slides, inflatable canoes and even bungee jumping! With a daily capacity of 2000 visitors this water park is the largest aqua park on the Turkish Mediterranean. This aqua park promises a visit full of fun, action and adventure whether young or adult. You will find rafting  beautiful views from the forest area, or for the adrenaline junkies there’s bungee jumping and large, high slides.

The Red Tower known as the ‘Kizil Kule’ in Turkish, sits on the harbor. This Tower is the symbol of Alanya and inside is the Ethnographic Museum of Alanya.

The Dimcay Alanya is a very deep gorge just east of Alanya City Centre. It is carved out from the Dim River amongst the mountains where the river washes down to the Mediterranean Ocean. This location is perfect for picnics, bathing or simply relaxing in beautiful surroundings. The stunning scenery and little floating huts that line the gorge make a comfortable and pleasant visit. There are plenty of picnic sites and floating restaurants that have been constructed all the way to the top of the valley where the Dim Barage is located. The icy cold mountain water provides great relief from the searing Alanya temperatures during the summer months.
