Kayakoy in Fethiye is a magnificent place with a magical feel and a history that stretches back to around 3,000BC. It’s believed that the remnants of this ancient city here were built in the 18th century.
It was once a flourishing Greek village with beautiful stone structures. This city is now abandoned and sits empty on the side of a hill after a population exchange with Greece in 1923.
The village of Kayakoy has plenty of restaurants, cafes and stunning scenery, yet is not far from the lively resort villages of Hisaronu and Oludeniz.
